The Harvey Weinstein Scandal Is The Tipping Point For Female Power
It’s been all over the news lately. Dozens of women are coming forward to share details of abuse at the hands of Hollywood mega producer Harvey Weinstein. Weinstein has been accused of rape, coercion and generally being a disgusting specimen of a man who used his professional power to have his way with women.
In the midst of these revelations, other notable figures have been outed for similar despicable behaviors toward women. Industry after industry is being disrupted by women standing up and saying #MeToo, offering their accounts of being abused by men when they never had the courage to speak up before.
The Harvey Weinstein scandal is a tragedy but it is also the perfect tipping point for women to recognize and reveal their power.
Women in the past have felt pressured to keep quiet, to overlook transgressions in an effort to inadvertently protect their abusers and their income. It is the time for women to stand up and learn to say NO THIS IS NOT RIGHT.
Women need to learn to say – STOP! I do not like this!
Women need to learn to say-Â I would rather LOSE than to become a victim.
Women need to learn to say- I can get where I want to be without you and I won’t take this abuse!
In order for the female power movement to reach the next level women must first learn to create their own incomes independent of asking for permission from employers and seeking opportunities from others. ALL women need to become entrepreneurs so that if any man attempts to manipulate them they can walk away immediately and still move ahead with caring for themselves and their lifestyles without fearing the loss that it could bring.
I get into a lot of trouble because I refuse to sit down and accept disrespectful behavior. I lose many opportunities because I will not be compliant and quiet about issues that irritate or degrade me. Why am I able to walk away so easily? I can walk away because I have created a system of multiple streams of income that no one has control over but me. If one income stream dwindles, I can turn to another. I will not be left lacking because I choose to do the work to create and maintain an independent system of income. I refuse to accept nonsense when it comes to interacting with me.
I am not afraid to lose because I can NOT lose. Not completely anyway.
I hope that more women will join me by learning to create their own streams of income that are independent of asking others for permission. Let’s tip the scales, ladies. It’s our time to shine! We must never allow ourselves to be quiet, to protect abusers and to become victims again!
