First Lady Obama Admits She Vowed to Upgrade The Future President

President and Mrs. Obama were interviewed LIVE before the Super Bowl last weekend. I for one have always believed that it is Mrs. Obama who has groomed this powerful man for the most powerful position in the country. But don’t take my word for it, listen to the interview. At about the 4:30 mark the interviewer Gayle King asks the couple about their first date, a monumental moment profiled in the newly released film Southside With You that depicts the budding romance and subsequent relationship between the future first couple.

Gayle King: In the movie you’re driving a raggedy car with a hole in it.
President Obama: This is true.
Gayle King: And I’m thinking…and you got a second date after driving that car?
President Obama: Because I’m so smooth. I could make up for the hole in the car. It was a hooptie.
Mrs. Obama: I thought, I’m gonna upgrade this brother.
President Obama: That was in her mind at the time.
Mrs. Obama: [I thought to myself] We can work with this.
President Obama: A diamond in the rough.

So there you have it. When Mrs. Obama met the future President she knew she had some work to do to groom him into the powerful man he is today.
